Max Flowers, Owner and Chief Contributing Author

Max holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics, and is a native Texan.  He is currently employed as a Senior Staff Engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Systems, where he has worked on various missile programs for twenty years.  Max has four US Patents, with two more pending.  Max truly is a “Rocket Scientist”.  Max chose to begin the company out of a deep concern regarding the lack of scientific laboratory investigations available to our teachers.  Max believes that children learn science best by experiencing it.

Eric Stratton, Contributing Author

Eric holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemistry.  Eric serves as a Chemical Engineer for Pratt & Whitney Aerospace, where he creates, directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for process engineering, organization, and control integration, and with pursuing mechanisms and best practices for product quality.  Prior to becoming a Chemical Engineer, Eric worked as an Advanced Placement Chemistry and as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry.  He has several publications to his credit including journal articles, laboratory manuals and other chemistry curricula.  Eric has produced a MCAT preparatory course for medical doctors with an emphasis in general chemistry review.  While teaching at the high school level, Eric noticed that the trends for success were closely related to the student's ability to conceptualize the science concepts.  Without a strong laboratory experience grounded in their states curriculum (TEKS for Texas), Eric believes it is virtually impossible for students to be successful.  For this reason, Eric is enthusiastic about participating in this project.

Dr. Brenda K. Flowers, Contributing Author

Brenda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a Master’s in Library Science, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, a Doctorate in Educational Administration, and valid Texas Teaching, Mid-Management, and Superintendency certificates.  Brenda taught mathematics in middle and high school, served five years as an Assistant Principal at the elementary school level, five years as a Principal at the intermediate and elementary school levels, and is currently an Assistant Superintendent.  During her tenure as an administrator, Brenda saw science teachers pour themselves into their teaching, only to be disappointed time and again by their scores.  Brenda agrees with Max that the science struggles nation-wide are a result of the lack of hands-on, laboratory based, closely aligned resources available to teachers.  Our primary goal is to change that!

She has also worked with trade show planning and implementation. At JustLabsTM, Maureen is the primary contact for all sales, marketing, trade shows, and seminars.  Implementing a Science Fair at her children’s elementary school in 2002 was the beginning of Maureen’s love for hands-on science experiments for children.
